Not the best night for me. I laid down my pad next to a garage door. It stormed all night, with the wind buffeting the side of the building I was on. I woke up in the middle of the night and found the ground around me wet, and half of my hiking gear soaked. The wind had driven rain through and under the garage door, soaking most of my clothes. I moved everything out of the water and moved my pad to the middle of the kitchen to not get more wet to deal with everything in the morning.
In the morning, the wind was howling, and it was blowing snow. Both pairs of my socks were wet and all of my bottoms were wet. I found some well worn rain pants duct taped together in the hiker box that I wore as my pants for the day as I let the rest of my gear dry. I think everything will come through alright. Even my camera got wet, but I kept it in my pocket all day to dry out and it seems fine at least now.
We made our deferred visit to the Chinese buffet, resupplied, and took care of the rest of the normal town chores. A good, relaxing zero day in our last major city before we hit the Sierra.
